How does Barcode Finder find barcodes?
It uses AI to analyze your product titles, vendors, variants, and attributes, then identifies the manufacturer-assigned UPC/EAN most likely associated with each product and shows it as a suggestion you can review.
Are the suggested barcodes guaranteed correct?
Suggestions are AI-generated matches, not guarantees. You review each current-vs-suggested barcode, along with its GTIN status, before assigning anything, so you stay in control of what gets saved.
What does it cost?
Barcode Finder is free to install with 100 AI credits included. After that, you buy credit packs (1,000 for $10, 2,000 for $18, or 5,000 for $40) and only pay for the searches you run, no subscription.
What is a credit?
Each AI barcode search uses credits. Your first 100 are free, and you can top up anytime from the dashboard, where your remaining balance is always shown.
Can I save codes as UPC/EAN or GTIN-14?
Yes. Choose your preferred GTIN type in settings and Barcode Finder writes it to each product’s barcode field in Shopify.
Can I run it on my whole catalog?
Yes. Filter to unassigned or active products, select a few or your entire catalog, and assign suggested barcodes in bulk.
Will it overwrite barcodes I already have?
It focuses on products missing barcodes and always shows current vs. suggested side by side, so you decide exactly what to assign, nothing changes without your confirmation.
Do I need a GS1 prefix or technical setup?
No. Install the app, pick your products, and run a search, no prefix or configuration required. If you do own a GS1 Company Prefix and want to assign your own codes, it pairs well with our GS1 Assistant app.
